Adjusting Dialer for Ten Digit Dialing

(Detailed instructions for Windows 2000)

Click on your dial up connection.
(as if you are going to connect to the Internet.)
Click on the Properties button from the connect to window.

Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to "Use dialing rules" and be sure that the area code is in the "Area code" field. Then click the rules button.

Click on My Location once to highlight it and then click on the Edit button

Click on the Area Code Rules tab at the top of the Edit Location window and then click the New... button.

Enter the area code in the Area Code: field if it is missing. Check the box next to "Include the area code" at the bottom of the page

Click the OK button at the bottom of any remaining open windows. You may now you may connect to the Internet or press the Cancel button on the "Connect To" window.
