Adjusting Dialer for Ten Digit Dialing

Double click on your My Computer icon. Then double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon.

Opposite mouse click (right click) on the internet connection and then click on Properties.

Delete the area code from the Area Code: field if it is present and the uncheck the box next to Use country code and area code. Click in front of the telephone number in the Telephone number: field and enter the area code. Click the OK button and close any open windows. Now you may connect to the Internet.
