Jim Stancil

Big Jim Stancil’s passion for BBQ began while cooking at local tailgates in the mid 1980’s, leading him to attend his first BBQ competition at Memphis in May in 1998. After many years of competing, Big Jim began cooking for private parties, functions and company picnics, which quickly turned from a part time hobby and business into a full-time business now known as Bareknuckles BBQ Inc.

Big Jim and the Bareknuckles BBQ Inc. have cooked in over 200 contests and have won countless awards and praise for their food and service. He has also traveled across the country and overseas to bring BBQ to people all over, as well as compete, in Washington D.C., Reno and Las Vegas NV, Houston Livestock BBQ and the Puerto Rico for the Caribbean BBQ Championship.

In addition to having cooked at over 200 BBQ contests, every year Big Jim is invited to the Jack Daniels World Invitational BBQ Contest to be a judge and a guest cook for VIP Guests on BBQ Hill. Big Jim and the Bareknuckles BBQ Inc. have also been a featured team on Destination America’s BBQ Pitmasters show. They were also featured on the Travel Channel’s American Grilled, where they won $10,000 for their grilled dishes. Big Jim has also been featured in grilling and smoking segments on TV in multiple different cities.
