Megan Day’s Zesty BBQ Pull Apart Bread

Ingredients

1 pound Mild Italian Sausage

2 Tbsp. Burnt Finger BBQ Bacon Rub

3 Tbsp. Burnt Finger BBQ Smokey KC Sauce

2 Tubes of Pizza Dough

2 Tbsp. Zesty Italian Salad Dressing

2 1/2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/3 jar of mild pepper rings

Cooking spray

Cast Iron Pan

Extra small metal bowl

1 cup pizza sauce

1 cup Burnt Finger BBQ Smokey KC Sauce

Directions

1.Create a 2-zone fire on the grill.

2.Season sausage with Bacon Rub and cook until no longer pink. Drain and set aside to cool.

3.Cut pizza dough horizontally down the center and make 15 to 17 vertical cuts to create small sections of dough you will then roll into balls.

4.Repeat with second tube of dough.

5.Toss dough balls in salad dressing.

6.Add the cheese, pepper rings and sausage and gently coat the sauced dough balls.

7.Place one layer of the coated dough balls in the cast iron pan.

8.Spray the bottom and sides of an extra small metal bowl with cooking spray and place it in the center of the dough ring on top of the first layer of dough.

9.Form a second layer of dough balls around the metal bowl. Sprinkle any remains cheese and sausage mixture on top of dough.

10.Place the cast iron pan over indirect heat.

11.Check often and turn pan to prevent burning.

12.After 25 minutes remove small metal bowl and allow the pan of dough to continue to cook for another 10 to 15 minutes.

13.Mix together equal parts pizza sauce and BBQ sauce.

14.Pour sauce into the center well of the pull-apart bread and serve immediately.
